Helping kids become confident readers and writers
Dyslexia is not a reflection of intelligence — it's a difference in the way the brain processes written language. With the right intervention, children with dyslexia can become confident, capable readers and writers.

How we help
Structured, evidence-based, and kind
We target the building blocks of reading and writing, one at a time.
Phonological awareness
Hearing and playing with the sounds inside words — the foundation for everything else.
Decoding
Linking sounds to letters so new words can be worked out, not guessed.
Fluency
Reading smoothly and with less effort, so there's energy left for meaning.
Comprehension
Understanding and enjoying what they read — the whole point.
We work closely with families and schools so strategies stay consistent across home and the classroom, supporting progress that lasts.
What it looks like

You'll always know where your child is up to and what comes next.

- Each term
Term therapy block
Regular sessions aligned to the school term, with short practice activities for home that take minutes, not hours.
- End of term
Progress check & school link-up
We review progress with you and, if you'd like, share strategies with your child's teacher.
Questions parents ask
Does my child need a diagnosis first?
No. You're welcome to get in touch with a concern and no diagnosis at all. We'll talk through what you've noticed and suggest the best first step.
What age should we start?
The earlier the better, but it's never too late. We work with primary school children and teenagers.
Can you work with my child's school?
Yes. With your permission we share strategies with teachers, and we can visit schools around Gosford so support is consistent at home and in class.
Can we claim the cost back?
Often, yes — through private health extras (claimed on the spot in clinic), Medicare with an eligible GP plan, or the NDIS. Our Fees & funding page explains each option.
Can sessions be online?
Yes. Literacy therapy works well by video, which is handy for busy weeks or families further from Gosford.
