Garden to Table: plant it, grow it, talk about it
Garden to Table is a hands-on group program where each child designs, plants and decorates their own herb garden — then takes it home to grow and cook with.
No gardening experience is needed — just a curiosity about growing things and a willingness to get your hands dirty.

How Garden to Table works
Each child plans their garden on a design worksheet, chooses their seedlings — basil, parsley, chives, mint, thyme or rosemary — decorates their pot with river stones, and learns how to care for their plants.
Along the way we connect their herbs to recipes they can make at home.
What children gain
- Planning and sequencing
- Turn-taking
- Descriptive language
- Back-and-forth social interaction
- A real sense of achievement
Children take home a fully planted herb garden, a care card and recipe ideas, so the learning keeps growing at home.
